Dmitry Shadrin graduated as actor from the Mikhail Shchepkin Higher Theatre School (Moscow) in 2006. Together with Alexey Egorov and Roman Dorofeev he established the artistic association DetSAT (Children of the Sakha Academic Theater; Deti Sakha Akedemicheskogo Teatra in Russian). The association united the three directors and they have been working for many years together. The group was established in 2006 and debuted with comic videos and programs on local TV. DetSAT is now the most successful commercial studio in Yakutia, Russua, working in the genre of comedy. The group has taken production to an impressive scale, the team is releasing one or two films a year, each with average budget starting from 2 million rubles. On average, these films makes twice as much at the local box office. For the last four years, Dmitrii Shadrin has been working as a head of State National Film Company Sakhafilm. He is a producer of The Lord Eagle and The Sun Above Me Never Sets, which were both nominated for APSA’s Cultural Diversity Award under the patronage of UNESCO.

We recognise the integral role Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and First Nations peoples continue to play in storytelling and celebration spaces.
