Aleksandr Yatsenko was born in Volgograd on May 22, 1977. During his years studying pedagogy at the Tambov State University he became an active member of a student theater group. In 2000–2004 he attended the Russian University of Theater Arts (GITIS), studying under the tutelage of Mark Zakharov. Aleksandr’s first major role was that of ‘Peaky’ in a 2003 film The Suit directed by Bakhtyar Khudojnazarov. Four months before graduation Aleksandr was expelled from GITIS for getting into a fight.
He is an actor, known for Free Floating (2006), It Doesn’t Hurt Me (2006), Chic (2003), and Arrhythmia (2017) for which he was awarded the Jury Grand Prize at the 2017 Asia Pacific Screen Awards.
