In Genikan, a remote mountain village on the Merbabu slope, an invisible and disenfranchised society is struggling to maintain its existence. A quiet community is facing change without understanding why it happens. As a community of farmers who rely on the traditional Javanese calendar system to read the seasons, they become puzzled by the dramatic change of seasons. Muryati and Sudardi are farmers. They try to understand why it rains more than the previous years. Failed harvests and cheap sale prices become a threat. Meanwhile, 12-year-old Arifin is faced with a question: what does the future offer him?
