Screen Queensland Supported Places

An expressions of interest (EOI) is now open for members of the Queensland screen community interested in a complimentary Silver Pass to the Asia Pacific Screen Forum presented by the Asia Pacific Screen Awards in Brisbane, Australia.

The forum runs 18 – 21 November 2019 and the Silver Pass provides access to all ticketed events and two of the intimate Industry Roundtables presented in partnership with Screen Queensland.


Asia Pacific Screen Forum Brunch (9.30am, Wednesday 20 November)
Drawing on their unique perspectives and combined decades of filmmaking experience, the esteemed panel will explore cultural diversity and freedom of expression in the Asia Pacific. Speakers include: EFA Deputy Chairman Mike Downey (United Kingdom), director Garin Nugroho (Indonesia) and director Liubov Borisova (Russian Federation).

APSA Reel Connections (6.00pm, Wednesday 20 November)
With first and second-time directors representing over half of the APSA nominated films this year, we invite local filmmakers to join our nominees in sharing ideas, stories, filmmaking processes and experiences. This networking event features a keynote speech by the winner of the 2013 APSA NETPAC Development Prize, Adilkhan Yerzhanov.

Meet the Programmers (9.30am, Thursday 21 November)
In line with APSA’s mission to broaden the market appeal of Asia Pacific content, this session offers nominees and local industry an unprecedented opportunity to hear from some of the world’s most significant programmers. Speakers include: Paolo Bertolin (Italy), Venice International Film Festival & Cannes Critic Week, Lydia Ogwang (Canada), Toronto International Film Festival and Amanda Duthie (Australia), experienced festival director and film and television commissioning producer.
