Yoon Ga-eun is a film director based in Korea. Born in 1982 in Seoul, she pursued a degree in history and religious studies at Sogang University before an MFA from the Korea National University of Arts. Her short film Guest won the Grand Prix at the Clermont-Ferrand festival in 2012. Her next short film, Sprout, won the Best Short Film Award (Crystal Bear – Generation Kplus) at the 2014 Berlin festival. Her feature debut, The World of Us, premiered at the Berlin festival in 2016 and was a Blue Dragon Film Awards winner in Korea as well as receiving a number of other awards. The World of Love, her third feature film, had its world premiere at the 50th Toronto International Film Festival as the first Korean film ever in the Platform competition, and received the Roberto Rossellini jury award and the People’s Choice Award at the 9th Pingyao International Film Festival, where the film had its Asian premiere.
