Bashir El Deek is a renowned figure in Egyptian cinema. He earned his bachelor’s degree in commerce from Cairo University in June 1966, before he launched his career as a screenwriter with the film “Ma’aa Sabaq Al Assrar,” which was directed by Ashraf Fahmy. The film starred Mahmoud Yassin, Nour El-Sherif and Mervat Amin, and was released on February 1978. El Deek directed “Al Toufan” (“The Deluge”), a movie starring Mahmoud Abdel Aziz, Farouk Al-Fishawy, Mahmoud El Gendy and Amina Rizk. He also directed “Sikkat Saffar” (“Traveller’s Way”), starring Nour El-Sherif, Noura, Hassan Moustafa, Abdel Salam Mohamed, Ahmed Badeer and others. Since 1984, Basheer has written screenplays for several television series.
