After producing acclaimed films like Killa, Liar’s Dice and Gurgaon, Alan McAlex founded Suitable Pictures in 2019 with a vision to create stellar stories for global audiences.

Harnessing his experience of working on illustrious projects like Dangal and Talvar, Alan began the journey of Suitable Pictures by co-producing two distinctive series, A Suitable Boy with BBC Studios and Poacher directed by Richie Mehta, which was picked up by Amazon Prime.

Two of Alan’s recent co-productions, Santosh and Sister Midnight, premiered at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival. Furthermore, Santosh was officially selected by the UK as its international feature Oscar entry. Collaborating with industry stalwarts as well as new voices, Suitable Pictures is building an ecosystem that thrives on innovative, cinematic storytelling by crafting hyperlocal narratives with universal resonance. Alan’s most recent project Boong, a Manipuri film, is the perfect example of that. After premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival 2024, Boong was set to travel to various film festivals and captivate audiences from around the world.
