Gita Fara is a film producer based in Jakarta. She has produced six feature films that have travelled widely on the international film festival circuit, including Nyai by Garin Nugroho (2016); The Seen and Unseen by Kamila Andini (2017), which won the Grand Prix at Berlinale Generation and Tokyo FILMeX; and Before, Now and Then (2022) by Kamila Andini, which premiered in the Berlin International Film Festival Main Competition and won the Silver Bear for Best Supporting Performance, won Best Film in the Asia Pacific Screen Awards 2022, and received five Citra awards in 2022’s FFI, including Best Feature Film.

Her latest works are a black and white silent movie directed by Garin Nugroho titled Samsara, with live Balinese Gamelan Music collaborated with Gabber Modus Operandi, commissioned by Singapore’s Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay, and On Your Lap directed by Reza Rahadian, which won four awards in the Busan IFF 2025 Visions Asia competition.

Gita is an alumnus of Talents Tokyo 2016, and she also sits as the Head of Programs for JAFF Market.
