Multi-talented John Lloyd Cruz is one of the Philippines’ biggest and most-acclaimed stars – an actor, model and television host. His credits include some of the highest-grossing box office hits in Philippine history, and he is as comfortable on screen in crowd-pleasing romantic comedies, as he is in gritty social realism dramas and thrillers. Cruz has starred in more than ten feature films by writer/director Cathy Garcia-Molina, often paired with popular romantic drama star Bea Alonzo.

He starred in two films directed by Lav Diaz which premiered at A-list festivals in 2016. A Lullaby to the Sorrowful Mystery (Hele sa Hiwagang Hapis) won the Silver Bear at the Berlinale and The Woman Who Left won the Golden Lion the Venice International Film Festival. Cruz again worked with Lav Diaz in History of Ha (Historya ni Ha, 2021) which premiered in the Dare section at London BFI Film Festival and was nominated for seven Gawad Urian Awards, the prestigious annual film awards in the Philippines.
