Born in 1979 in Saitama, Japan. After graduating Keio University, he joined TV Asahi in 2003 and worked as a film/TV producer for over 10 years. He has produced many works including the film “Gaku”, the TV series “BORDER”and “dele” and is a two-time winner of the Tokyo Drama Awards as well asa three-time winner of the Galaxy Awards. In 2019, “dele” won the Grand Prix at the MIPCOM BUYERS’ AWARD for Japanese Drama. Since April 2019, he has been working at Toho as a producer and an associate manager of the planning and production department. He produced the Netflix series “The Makanai: Cooking for the Maiko House”,written and directed by Kore-eda Hirokazu, and“A Hundred Flowers”, which was the first Japanese film to win the Silver Shell for Best Director at the San Sebastian International Film Festival. He also produced Kore-eda Hirokazu’s latest film “Monster”, which won theBest Screenplay and the Queer Palm at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival. His latest produced work “Godzilla Minus One” will be released in Japan on 3rd November 2023.
