Kim Bo-sol was born in Seoul in 1988. In 2016 he graduated with a BFA with a major in Design & Arts Design & Media Film, as well as a minor in Art History and Theory, from Hongik University. He subsequently graduated from the Korean Academy of Film Arts in 2019. He directed the short films Strange Life (2016) and Home (2019), and was assistant director and worked on VFX for the short film Unique Time (2022), before making his feature directing debut with the animation The Square (2025).
