Nguyễn Vinh Phúc had his first brush with cinema through a filmmaking workshop at 16. Since then he has been interested in visual storytelling. He started as a camera operator on short films that screened at both domestic and international film festivals. Phúc enjoys working on independent films that are challenging and highly personal. At 20, he shot this first feature film as director of photography, the 2016 Vietnamese indie cult hit KFC. Most recently, he shot Rom which won the New Currents Award at Busan International Film Festival.
