Internationally awarded star of stage and screen, Shamaine Buencamino is one of the Philippines leading actresses, having appeared in more than forty films, dozens of award-winning and popular television programmes and works in theatre and advertising. In 2012, she won the Best Supporting Actress award for her performance in the Loy Arcenas film Niño (2011) at the Asian Film Awards, the Cinemalaya Independent Film festival and the Golden Screen Awards in Manila. She also received two additional nominations for the Golden Screen Awards, for Best Lead Actress for her performance in REquieme! (2012) and Best Supporting Actress for Prinsesa (2007).
