After working in a movie company and a TV station and as a freelancer, Toshiyuki Matsui is currently affiliated with Toei Animation.

As a producer, he has been involved in a wide range of projects, from live-action films like Rock’n’Roll Mishin (2002), Ballad: Namonaki Koi no Uta (2009) and Hana no Ato (2009) to animations such as RE: Cutie Honey (2004) and Pop in Q (2016).
