Yana Troyanova was born in Ekaterinburg, Russia, in 1973. Wolfy (2009) marks an impressive feature film debut for Yana who, prior to this role, has worked extensively in the theatre. Her performance in Wolfy has been internationally acclaimed on the festival circuit and she received the award for Best Actress at the 2009 Kinotavr, also known as the Sochi Open Russian Film Festival where Wolfy won the Grand Jury Prize in a unanimous decision by the jury.
