Ji-hu Park is a teenage actress from the Republic of Korea who received her first starring role in House of Hummingbird (2019). For her performance as a restless and lonely young woman growing up in the shadow of Seoul’s industrialisation in the early 1990s, she received her first APSA nomination. Park won the Tribeca Film Festival’s Best Actress prize where the film also won Best International Narrative Feature and Best Cinematography. The film has collected many awards on the international festival circuit, including the Grand Prix of the Generation 14plus International Jury’s Best Feature Film at the Berlin Film Festival and the Busan International Film Festival’s NETPAC Award.

We recognise the integral role Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and First Nations peoples continue to play in storytelling and celebration spaces.
