Tim MILFULL is a film critic based in Brisbane, Australia, and his work has appeared in print, online, on radio and television. He teaches film theory and creative writing in the Creative Industries Faculty of the Queensland University of Technology, and is currently completing his PhD in creative writing. Tim recently finished a long-term stint as editor of the popular culture website media-culture reviews, and writes for Rave Magazine and the Brisbane newspaper, The Independent. Tim is APSAs correspondent for the 18th St George bank Brisbane International Film Festival (stgeorgebiff.com.au). BIFF Festival Director and APSA Nominations Council member Anne Demy-Geroe has developed a strong tradition of bringing a rich slate of Asia-Pacific films to BIFF and 2009 is no exception. Join us over the coming days as Tim gives us the lowdown from the front stalls of The Regent Cinema. Whilst Tim’s role as a FIPRESCI juror will prevent him from discussing FIPRESCI eligible films prior to the deliberation process, he will report back with a comprehensive wrap of these films and the prize winners on the closing day.
