We are thrilled to announce that the competition is now open for the 18th Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA) which will take place on the Gold Coast, Queensland in November. This prestigious event will celebrate the remarkable contributions of filmmakers across Asia Pacific region and announce the recipients of the coveted MPA APSA Academy Film Fund.

Submissions are now open for both the APSA competition and the MPA APSA Academy Film Fund:

APSA Competition: Filmmakers from the Asia Pacific region are invited to submit their films for consideration in various award categories. Films must have secured a premiere between 1 August 2024 and 31 October 2025.

MPA APSA Academy Film Fund: Exclusively available to APSA Academy members and their collaborators, this fund offers four US$25,000 script development grants annually. Since 2010, the Fund has supported 56 films from 27 countries, fostering diverse storytelling across the region.

The announcement of the Film Fund’s opening was made at the Motion Picture Association (MPA) event Indonesia’s Success Stories in Jakarta. The partnership between the MPA and APSA has led to films gaining recognition at major festivals, including Cannes, Venice, and Berlin.
