Call for Forum Producer and Forum Content Submissions

Shape the Future of Asia Pacific Cinema — APSA 2026 Opportunities Now Open

The Asia Pacific Screen Academy is calling for expressions of interest from screen industry professionals to help shape the 8th Asia Pacific Screen Forum, taking place 28–30 October 2026 at The Star Gold Coast and Event Cinemas Pacific Fair, co-located with the Australian International Media Conference (AIMC).

We are seeking a Forum Producer to lead the program, and inviting content proposals from practitioners, researchers, advocates, and organisations who want to contribute ideas, panels, masterclasses, and conversations to the Forum program.

EOI 1 — Forum Producer

Lead the program that connects Asia Pacific’s screen industry.

The Asia Pacific Screen Forum is a three-day industry event bringing together filmmakers, distributors, financiers, commissioners, cultural organisations, and screen agencies from across the 78 countries and areas of the Asia Pacific region. The Forum creates space for real connection — across borders, disciplines, and career stages.

We are seeking an experienced Forum Producer to develop and deliver a compelling, cohesive program for the Asia Pacific Screen Forum. Working closely with the APSA Executive Director and team, the Forum Producer will shape the thematic direction, curate speakers and sessions, manage relationships with presenting partners, and bring the program to life.

The role:

  • Develop the Forum program in consultation with APSA leadership and the Forum Steering Committee
  • Identify, approach, and confirm speakers, moderators, and session partners
  • Manage session logistics in coordination with the APSA events team
  • Contribute to the Forum’s 2026 sustainability theme, building on APSA’s program legacy
  • Support communications and promotional content relating to the Forum program

What we’re looking for:

  • Demonstrated experience producing or curating industry events, film festivals, or professional development programs
  • Understanding of the Asia Pacific screen industry landscape
  • Strong networks across the screen sector — producers, distributors, broadcasters, funders, or screen agencies
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills
  • Ability to work independently and to tight timelines
  • Experience working across cultures and with international stakeholders highly regarded

Contract: Freelance / contractor engagement, October 2026 delivery. Remuneration commensurate with experience.

To apply: Submit a brief expression of interest (maximum two pages) outlining your relevant experience and your vision for the Forum program, along with a current CV or profile to [email protected]

Application deadline: 31 July 2026

EOI 2 — Forum Content Proposals

Got an idea that could spark a conversation across 78 countries and areas?

The Asia Pacific Screen Forum is building its program and we want to hear from you. We are inviting content proposals from screen practitioners, industry organisations, researchers, cultural advocates, and anyone with something to say about the future of Asia Pacific cinema.

We’re looking for proposals for:

  • Panel discussions and conversations
  • Masterclasses and skills sessions
  • Pitching and project development sessions
  • Keynote presentations
  • Industry showcases or case studies
  • Cross-sector or cross-border initiatives

What makes a strong proposal:

  • A clear and compelling topic with genuine relevance to Asia Pacific screen industry practitioners
  • A specific angle or question — not just a broad theme
  • Identified speakers or a clear plan for who would be involved
  • Openness to APSA’s programming needs and timeline

To submit a proposal: Tell us your idea in no more than one page. Include the session format, proposed speakers or contributors (if known), and why this conversation matters to the Asia Pacific screen community right now to [email protected]

Submission deadline: 31 July 2026
