President of Beyond C. and STUDIO4℃. After working as a line producer for My Neighbor Totoro (1988) and Kiki’s Delivery Service (1989) at Studio Ghibli, Eiko Tanaka established STUDIO4℃ and since then has accomplished highly acclaimed projects with the gifted creators gathered at the studio. Genres of her productive efforts vary from theatrical movies such as Memories (1995), Tekkonkinkreet (2006), Mutafukaz (MFKZ) (2018) and Children of the Sea (2019) to short films, TV series, music clips, commercials and works for newly adopted media. Her latest film, ChaO (2025), premiered in the Annecy Festival 2025 and won the Jury Award.
The Asia Pacific Screen Academy expresses its respect for and acknowledgement of the South East Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. We pay our respects to the Traditional Owners of country, including the custodial communities on whose land works are created and celebrated by the Asia Pacific Screen Awards. We acknowledge the continuing connection to land, waters and communities. We also pay our respects to Elders, past and present. We recognise the integral role Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and First Nations peoples continue to play in storytelling and celebration spaces.
