Reis Çelik, born in Anatolia, studied music and theatre at the State Conservatoire. He worked as a political correspondent and photojournalist, later moving into documentaries, commercials and political campaign films. He has held exhibitions of his photographic work in 12 countries. Çelik’s debut feature Işıklar Sönmesin (1996) won several awards on the international festival circuit. Night of Silence (2012) was the recipient of the Generation 14plus Crystal Bear at Berlinale.
