Saurabh Monga was born in India where he also spent his childhood before leaving to complete his higher studies in the United States. He then returned to India, where he studied cinema and worked in the film industry. After working on various camera crews in feature films, commercials and documentaries, Saurabh made his way to Latin America, where he graduated in Cinematography from the International Film and Television School, San Antonio de Los Baños, Cuba. He has served as Director of Photography on several short films including Anfibio (2014) (which screened at the Cannes Film Festival), La Carga (2015) (winner of Best Documentary Short at the Malaga Film Festival) and Tiznao (2015). His first feature was The Gold-Laden Sheep and the Sacred Mountain (2019) and he was nominated for an APSA for Achievement in Cinematography. He is also an alumnus of the Berlinale Talents, 2017, and is currently based between Latin America and India.
