Vittorio Storaro is one of the most celebrated cinematographers of all time. Born in Rome in 1940, he began studying photography at the young age of 11. His long collaboration with Bernardo Bertolucci started with The Spider’s Stratagem(1970), and continued with The Conformist (1970), Last Tango in Paris (1972), Little Buddha (1993), as well as the Academy Award® winner for Best Picture and Best Cinematography, The Last Emperor (1987). Storaro also had longstanding collaborations with directors Francis Ford Coppola and Warren Beatty, winning two more Academy Awards® for his work on Apocalypse Now (1979) and Reds (1981). He has won or been nominated for over 75 awards, including two Emmy statuettes, four BAFTAs, the Cannes Technical Grand Prize, and was the youngest person to ever receive the American Society of Cinematographer’s Achievement Award.
