JAKE POLLOCK:

After graduating from the Department of Film and Television at NYU, Jake Pollock, a fan of Taiwanese cinema, decided to relocate to Taiwan. His unique handheld style saw him receive the Special Jury Prize at Taipei for Respire (2005). His most recent two films, The Message (2009) and Monga (2010), have achieved huge box-office success.

LAI YIU-FAI:

International audiences are familiar with the works of the Hong Kong-based veteran cinematographer Lai Yiu-Fai, whose frequent collaboration with the likes of Wong Kar-Wai and Andrew Lau has created a string of worldwide hits such as Infernal Affairs (2002) and Confession of Pain (2006), and for which he has received many international awards.

The Asia Pacific Screen Academy expresses its respect for and acknowledgement of the South East Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
