Director Rolf de Heer has been a writer/director of independent feature films for thirty years. His films have been selected to screen In Competition multiple times at the world’s leading festivals, Cannes, Berlin, Venice and Toronto. No less than four of his features have screened at the Cannes Film Festival, The Quiet Room (1996), Dance Me To My Song (1998), Ten Canoes (2006), which won the Un Certain Regard Jury Prize, and the Best Actor prize for David Gulpilil for Charlie’s Country (2014). Bad Boy Bubby (1993) and The Tracker (2002) were both award winners at the Venice Film Festival, where they were nominated for the Golden Lion. His other features include Dingo (1991), starring Miles Davis, and The Old Man Who Read Love Stories (2001), starring Oscar® winner Richard Dreyfuss.
