Nomination Detail

Amir Azizi, born in 1984 in Ahvaz, Iran, is an Iranian writer and director. He began his career with short films before moving to feature filmmaking. His debut feature premiered in the main competition of the Beijing International Film Festival, and his second film was selected for the main competition at the Warsaw International Film Festival. His third feature, Inside Amir (2025), was presented at the Venice Film Festival and won the top award in the Giornate degli Autori section. Azizi’s films often explore themes of human solitude, migration, and the search for identity within urban landscapes, with a strong poetic and visual sensibility.
