Film Synopsis

Sixteen-year-old Peipei crosses the border nearly every day, travelling between her home of Shenzhen in mainland China and her Hong Kong high school. Customs officials glimpse her school uniform and innocent face and wave her through without a second thought, which is why it becomes so easy for Peipei and her best friend, Jo, to join a gang operated by Jo’s new boyfriend, Hao, and begin smuggling smartphones from Hong Kong to the mainland. Having grown up in the tropical climate and in an unstable home, the pair dream of going to Japan so that they can see real snow and their new illegal operation is how they are going to pay to get there. What Peipei doesn’t know is how her well-paid job will render her daily routine into something high risk and how her growing feelings for Hao will affect their plans.
