Having quarrelled with his father, the young Altan goes to work in the remote North Arctic. He will have to spend a month alone on a deserted island. Out of the blue, an old man appears, looking to spend the last days of his life on the island and insisting Altan bury him next to his wife. Atlan discovers the old man’s daughter is missing, he talks the old man into reinvigorating his search for his daughter. In their time together in the Arctic, Altan must work every day to rouse the old man and ensure that he lives to see another day to hopefully see his daughter again.
