Nomination Detail

Yury Raysky graduated as a cinematographer from famed Russian film school VGIK. Since 1980 he has been the photography director of Mosfilm, historically Europe’s oldest and largest film studio. In 1993 he co-founded the Association of Russian Cinematographers (ARCO). Raysky has been director of photography on many Russian films including the collaboration with Orda director Andrei Proshkin, Minnesota (2009). He worked with director Slava Ross on Siberia, Monamour (2011), which won many awards including Best Cinematography at Syracuse International Film Festival (New York, USA) and Monaco Charity Film Festival.

We recognise the integral role Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and First Nations peoples continue to play in storytelling and celebration spaces.
