Nomination Detail

Kaili Blues (2015) is amazingly Wang Tainxing’s debut work as cinematographer. His attention to detail, storytelling and arresting images complement director Bi Gan’s fluid and poetic storytelling, including most prominently in one bold 40-minute travelling shot that lies at the film’s heart that rivals some of cinema’s finest and most famously audacious single takes. Since completing Kaili Blues, Wang shot From Where We’ve Fallen (2016) and directed the short film Kill The Fish(2015). Wang was awarded the Silver Award of the Beijing Film Academy Cinerent Film Festival.
